Merry Christmas Lions!

It is officially Dec 1, so its time to get in the Christmas Spirit. We’re talking about Advent season babyyyyy!

Straight from our devo:

The word “advent” means arrival. So this advent season, we invite you to reflect on the biblical meanings of hope, peace, joy, and love to discover how these virtues have arrived in the world (and in YOUR life) through Jesus.

Bottom line, our goal is to prepare room in our hearts for our precious God to be born in us again and again. The reason for this need is simple- we, as humans, need reminders over and over.

It’s never enough to be told of our worth once. Year after year, day after day we wander and we forget how absolutely insane it is the our God literally and physically moved in to the neighborhood to be with us.

So Advent is simply the season to help us refocus and prepare Him room.

A question I like to challenge myself with this time of year:

If my heart was the Bethelehem inn Jesus was to be born in, would there be room?

If not, what takes up His space?

I don’t know about you, but if I’m being honest, I sometimes have to admit the answer to that first question might sadly be no.

So here’s what we’re going to do about it. (And spoiler alert, we are not reinventing the wheel here. We’re doing what Christians around the world have done for centuries. Just with a couple YL spins cause that’s what we do):

  1. Reflect Daily by doing the bible project advent devotional.
  2. Do a surprise challenge based on the reflection. (Get hype).
  3. Share the experience with each other. (In the groupme).

To participate:

  1. Download the Bible app to your phone.
  2. Start the Bible Project Advent Reflection plan by clicking here. There is one short devotional per day including today. (Put your setting on PUBLIC/with friends so we can all be in it together!)
  3. After doing your Bible project devo on your Bible app, check out the leaders daily medium post that will be shared in the groupme and do the challenges.

Hope you’re as hype for advent and Christmas as we are. Now without further ado… it’s time for our December 1st feature and challenge.
